How to get there There is a road going off the main road east of the tunnel above Le Grave (1505m) (D33) on the road (N91) from Grenoble to Briançon. This is a steep road which had some gravel on the first part on the asphalt in 2009, but was then perfect newly asphalted to the top. There is some traffic on this road as it goes to popular Le Chazelet from where you have beautiful views of the opposite highest mountains of the Ecrins mountain range (La Meije (3983m) etc.). It is also the start for nice long walks up the Plateau d’Emparis.
Other comments This pass is the location for a small chapel, Ste Anne, on the way to Le Chazelet (1800m), which has a small wodded plate announcing the pass. This is also the best location for great views of La Meije (3983m), the most well-known mountain in the Massif des Écrins.. This is a very nice detour (cul-de-sac) if travelling via La Grave on the bicycle!
