How to get there	This pass is located before Passo del Bernina (2329m) on the road coming from the north. This is the pass that the Bernina Express (train) uses down to Italy and it may be the one used before the road over the Bernina pass was built (I think it is somewhat old itself though). The Bernina pass road goes down the valley of the Fórcola di Livigno (2315m) pass, but later meet up with the valley for this pass. It is only a jeep track following the railway down south of this pass (it might be good for MTB). The real pass route down the south side is the path on the west side of the lake at the top. You start in the Engadin valley outside Celerina/Schlarigna (1728m) (near St. Moritz). There is a relatively short climb with nice views of the Bernina mountain on the climb.
Other comments	Another attraction on this varied climb is the Bernina express – the highest railway in Europe, which crosses the road on the north side (twice). The lower south part is much greener and has some lovely views around Miralago. I do not think there is any water higher up on this pass. Lodging in the Engadin valley is expensive.
