How to get there If coming from Switzerland via Pas de Morgins (1370m) then the lowest point on this climb is at Châtel (1111m) a bit after turning off the main road. One could start the climb already down north at Thonon-les-Bains (Pont de la Douceur) (425m) by Lac Léman. One could also come up the same road from the south and would then start in Bioge (534m) or higher up in La Solitude (831m) if coming via the road over the Col du Corbier (1237m). If coming from Évian-les-Bains (374m) by the Lac Léman or via Col du Grand Taillet (1041m), one would start this climb at Les Combes (796m). The other side (south side) of this pass only has gravel roads up from Les Lindarets (1476m). It looks like the longer one might be cyclable, the other one was only cyclable to perhaps 25% with a road bike.
Other comments Downhill cycling is popular here around. The area is called ‘Portes du Soleil’, which did not mean that it was not raining when I was there … . There are good views from the top. See also: Col de la Joux Verte (1760m)
