How to get there	From the north you start in Zernez (1471m) in the Engadin valley and climb via Ova Spin (1883m). If you come from the west – Livigno, you will start the short climb at Punt la Drossa (1711m). In Sta. Maria im Müstair (1376m) the southern climb starts, which may be slightly harder than the north one. You could also start down in Glurns/Glorenza (908m) for a long, irregular and hard climb.
Other comments	Zernez and Sta. Maria are both nice villages and the national parkland on the north side is very unusual and interesting, but ultimately this is not one of the nicest Alps passes. It is not a very difficult pass either. The traffic is somewhat moderate even though it should be an obvious through route, but heavy lorry traffic probably much prefer the Reschenpass/Passo di Rèsia/Pass dal Raisch. Simple accomodation could be found at the hostel in Sta. Maria and accomodation should also be possible to find in Zernez for example. It is no longer allowed to go bicycling to/from Livigno through the tunnel as someone has deemed it too dangerous and thus you will have to either pay a fee for the bus or a higher fee as penalty for breaking the regulation. (20 euro in my case, even when I met no car in the tunnel. I had just missed the half-hourly bus and hoped they would not charge me a fee – I do not approve of that regulation.
