Col de Sormiou (182m)

The boat journey back to Marseilles was not as smooth as on the way out. It felt like I was on a tiny boat out in a storm on the sea and even the personell in the restauarant had trouble walking and keeping things in their place. The boat got delayed more than 1,5 hours. It was nice weather in Marseilles but also very cold. I cycled through Marseilles and stopped near the Plages de Prado for a coffee and sandwich and fixed my bad front tyre. Then I went up to a pass just at the edge of the big town, which I knew was nice – Col de Sormiou (182m), where I took the last photo. I could have taken an even better photo on the gravel road I took over to a nearby pass. I later went up a very steep road to Pas de la Colle (214m), where the road was closed due to the windy conditions that I had just realised had come upon me. From then on I found that it was longer back to Ventabren than I had optimistically thought and had this horible mistral winds against me. I was lucky to be able to borrow a phone and arrange that my bike box was delivered to the airport and I was there just in time to get the bicycle packed down and then checked in last of all 2 minutes before the check-in closed.
